Offsetting our Carbon Footprint

With the rising number of Electric vehicles being sold in the UK this year alone (over 160,000 as of June 2024) the number of customers selecting to finance electric vehicles with Advantage Finance also increases, followed by the number of Advantage Staff also opting to move to electric as their choice of upgrade to their set of wheels. So naturally, we installed 12 EV dedicated EV charging bays with electric chargers for the staff to use based at our head office here in Grimsby, with this number set to rise.

We have also implemented an Electric Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme for staff to support the move to electric and offset our carbon footprint!

And for those who live close to the office, there is the Cycle to Work Scheme to strengthen our efforts to go as green as possible, cycling to work also has additional benefits for employees as it is said to improve morale, health, and also productivity, win-win!

When it comes to powering up our buildings off-grid, our biggest building Unit 10, based on the Acorn Business Park, Grimsby is powered by the solid stack of 116 Solar Panels that adorn the entire roof. Averaging out for 6 months, these generate 22 000KW of energy of the required 23 000KW required to run that building at full capacity.

Moving inside the offices, all of our lighting is powered by LED bulbs, adding to this we have also installed PIR Movement Sensors in all reception areas, kitchens, and toilets that automatically turn off lights when these areas are not in use with the scope to include office spaces in 2025 to further reduce our energy usage.

As our conscious efforts to reduce our carbon footprints continue, we also commit funds to supporting The Woodland Trust through Carbon Neutral Britain, planting trees in the key areas they have identified and allocated for plant growth.

Finally, we are proud ambassadors of the "recycle everything" approach, in partnership with ELLGIA Recycling Innovation, with everything from paper to PC parts going through the correct recycling process. We commit to continuing our conscious efforts and decision-making, to ensure that our energy is being used efficiently, including making appropriate moves towards a more digital approach to how we conduct our business, where applicable.
